NARA-endorsed Quality Consultants

Initial Registration

To ensure that training organisations seeking initial registration with NARA are properly prepared for a NARA audit, NARA requires all applicants to engage the services of a NARA-endorsed Quality Consultant.

Once the Quality Consultant is confident that the applicant is ready for audit, he/she will provide formal confirmation of this to the relevant NARA Client Relationship Manager, who will then assign an independent Lead Auditor to undertake the applicant’s initial audit.

Existing RTOs

Existing RTOs registered with NARA seeking re-registration or major changes to scope of registration must use a NARA-endorsed Quality Consultant in preparation for audit.

However existing RTOs seeking to add qualifications or units of competence from Training Packages with which they already have experience are not required to use the services of a Quality Consultant prior to audit.

NARA audit activities are undertaken by independent auditors who have successfully applied to join a national pool of NARA auditors and who have a contractual arrangement with TVET Australia.

As part of their contract, NARA-endorsed Quality Consultants and auditors are required to participate in regular national moderation activities conducted by NARA which are aimed at achieving consistency in NARA audit processes.

Conflicts of Interest and Confidentiality

NARA requires its endorsed Quality Consultants to avoid potential conflicts of interest that could arise in the conduct of their consultancy roles.

A NARA-endorsed Quality Consultant:

Each NARA-endorsed Quality Consultant is required to sign a Declaration of Confidentiality that requires him/her to maintain strict confidentiality in relation to consultancy work undertaken for NARA.
